| Snowdonia & North Wales |
| A carefree seaside resort, glorious mountain scenery, and full-of-character Welsh villages – you’ll enjoy all these on this tour. Llandudno, Queen of the Welsh resorts, with its splendidly broad promenade, was developed as an upmarket Victorian holiday town, and has retained much of its 19th century atmosphere. To the South rise the impressive peaks of the mountains of Snowdonia, and to the North the summit of the Great Orme can be reached by cablecar for some superb panoramic views of both the coast and the inland National Park. In 1861 the Liddell family, whose daughter was Lewis Carroll’s model for the main character of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, summered in the house that is now the St Tudno Hotel. Their legacy is marked with a statue of the White Rabbit on the West Shore. |

PEMBROKESHIRE COAST Y538 J538
|
| Featuring St David’s, Cardigan & Tenby |
| Delightful Fishguard is a town steeped in history - the last invasion of Britain took place here in 1797 when French mercenaries landed to stir up a rebellion against George III. Also, Brunel planned to make the town a transatlantic port to rival Liverpool and for a brief period great liners like the Mauritania did berth here. Today, the town provides a pretty haven for pleasure craft and is an ideal base for exploring Pembrokeshire’s countryside, coast and attractions.
